Pixie and I got a lot of treats for doing this, so it was worthwhile.

REDEDICATION
Today I am rededicating myself to writing my blog. 2009 got away from me - I was so busy.
2010 is the year my Mom is going to write her dissertation and it is also the year I am going to keep up with this blog. It might just be a photo or a thought for the day, but that is something.
Talk atcha soon

Another coat
It seems that my Mom has a problem. Well two problems - 1) she cannot resist any items with ladybugs on them and 2) she is addicted to whippet coats.
So yes, I got another coat. But this time, she actually got a hat and scarf (Pix is modeling the scarf) to match. I really hope that she has the decency to not wear her clothes at the same time I am wearing mine. How freakin' embarassing.

happy 40th birthday to my MOM
Tomorrow - September 30th is my Mom's 40th birthday. I am posting this now cause tomorrow we will be on the road heading to the WRA/NOTRA nationals. My Mom made herself a special birthday treat.
Pixie and I would have made it for her but:
1. we have no thumbs
2. we don't know how to open the fridge
3. we have no self-control
Happy happy birthday to our Mom, Allie!!!!!

Best method for tableside begging
This is Pixie and I demonstrating our proven method of tableside begging. I assure you that if you beg like us, you will always get some delicious morsels of human food.
Here is what you do -
1) Target the person who has been in the house the shortest amount of time - they are most likely a visitor/guest and probably don't know there are any house rules against getting fed at the table
2) Think about a really sad time in your life - like when you first were separated from your Mom or when your favorite toy stopped squeaking - this will get your eyes to have the appropriate sad/pathetic look
3) Try to stare at them without blinking for as long as you possibly can. If you must blink - try to blink a few quick times one after the other - humans seem to like this
4) Be quiet - do not whine, bark, or make any noise. Yes, I know this is tough - but really the humans have no idea what you are saying, so it isn't worth it.
5) Remain on the floor - no, seriously - do not get up, do not push your nose into their lap, do not put your front feet on the table, do not pace back and forth, do not circle the table in a sharklike fashion -- just stay on the floor and stare
If you follow these 5 steps, pretty soon a human hand is going to approach your nose (remember stay down) and give you some tasty foods.
That is it. So give it a shot and see how you do.

I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack
My Mom bought us a house and a yard and I have been too busy exploring my new surroundings to post. Well, maybe I have just been lazy. Whatever, I am back and ready to get to blogging. Soooo much has happened since I last got to typing.
Pixie and I have spent a whole lot of time in our yard, we have eaten many different kinds of insects and grazed on many different types of plants. We have run up and down the stairs a million times. Slept on all the couches and beds. Eaten dinner al fresco. Napped on the deck. Killed several bunnies. I killed a mouse all by myself, but Pixie stole it from me and ate it. We have gone racing a few times and I got some more championship points.
Did I say how much our yard rocks. OK, gotta go - time to eat some turkey necks in the yard. Promise to write again real soon. And I will also update all the other stuff on the blog.

happy new year
Today I am one and a half years old. Back when I was a puppy, some people told my Mom that when I turned one and a half, I would become a calm, relaxed whippet. Umm, I don't know why these folks tried to bamboozle my Mom. I am Bug and sure, I am calm sometimes, but I am a kooky, quirky girl and I think I will always be that way. I heard my Mom tell someone the other day that maybe at two years old I would be more like Pixie. Hahahahahaha - no way Mom. Gotta go, must zoom around the house a few times to celebrate 2009.
